Make your phone do more for you

This feature allows the user to reject calls from persons who have chosen to keep their name and/or numbers private.

How To Use:

  1. To activate, call Yucca Telecom.
  2. Lift the handset and check for a dial tone.
  3. Press *77 (rotary users dial 1177).
  4. You will hear a double tone confirmation.
  5. Hang up.

How To Cancel:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. Press *87 (rotary users dial 1187).
  3. You will hear a double tone confirmation.
  4. Hang up.

With this feature, the user enters a code and the phone continuously redials a busy number until the line is free and a connection has been established.

How To Use:

  1. As soon as the busy signal sounds, press and release the receiver hook and listen for the special tone. If you have already hung up, lift the handset and listen for the normal dial tone.
  2. Press *66 (rotary users dial 1166).
  3. If the line is still busy, hang up. This tells your phone to check the number continuously for up to 30 minutes.
  4. A special callback ring will alert you when the line becomes available. (Note: Some phones may not ring with the special tone.)
  5. Once the callback ring has alerted you, pick up the handset and you will be automatically connected with the party you desire.

How To Cancel:

  1. Press and release the receiver hook. Listen for the special dial tone. If you have already hung up, lift the handset and listen for the normal dial tone.
  2. Press *86 (rotary users dial 1186).
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone or announcement.
  4. Hang up.

Note: To start the thirty (30) minute clock, repeat steps 1-3. Automatic Call Back has the ability to check as many as thirty-one (31) busy lines at once. This feature does not work on 500 numbers, 800 numbers, 900 numbers, numbers outside the specified service area, or lines where Call Forward and some other call services have been activated.

This feature allows the user to dial the number of the last call received.

How To Use:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone. If you were holding the handset when the call originally came through, press and release the receiver hook.
  2. Press *69 (rotary users dial 1169).
  3. An announcement will play back the number of the last call. You can press 1 to automatically dial the number.
  4. If the line is busy, hang up. The phone will keep trying to make a connection for up to 30 minutes. A special callback ring will alert you when the connection has been made.
  5. Lift the handset and press 1 to receive the call.

How To Cancel:

  1. Press *89 (rotary users dial 1189).
  2. Listen for an announcement that states that all outstanding Automatic Recall requests are deactivated.

Retrieving Messages

A stutter dial tone (a steady beeping tone similar to a busy signal) will alert you that a message is waiting. Dial your access number, enter your password, then press #

Away from home – Enter your seven-digit phone number, then press # Messages will start playing automatically. Listen for prompts to replay, keep, delete, or save messages.

Changing Voice Mail Options

Voice Mail options may be changed at any time, from any phone. Access your mailbox, and press 9 to enter the Set-up menu. Follow voice prompts to change your password or greeting.

This feature allows the user to see the name and number of all incoming calls.

How To Use:

  1. When a call comes in, the Caller ID unit will receive the information after the first ring.
  2. The incoming caller’s name and phone number will appear on the display screen.
  3. If you choose to accept the call, pick up the handset. If you choose not to accept the call, no action is necessary.

Note: Before using this feature, users must subscribe to Caller ID and purchase a Caller ID unit or phone. When the letter “P” or the word “Private” appears on the screen, this indicates that the caller’s phone number has been blocked. When phrases like “unknown name,” “unknown number,” or “unavailable” appear on the screen, this is an indication that the incoming caller is in an area that does not support Caller ID services

This feature allows the user to view the names and numbers of incoming calls while talking on the phone, unless the identity of the calling party is private or is unavailable for display.

How To Use:

  1. To activate this feature, contact Yucca Telecom and ask for Caller ID Call Waiting.

Note: Before using this feature, customers must purchase a Caller ID/Call Waiting unit or phone.

This feature automatically blocks a user’s number without the need to press *67 (1167 by rotary users) each time a call is placed. Your telephone number will always appear as “Private” on a Caller ID unit.

Line Blocking allows the user the ability to unblock their line on a per-call basis by dialing *82 (rotary users dial 1182) immediately prior to placing a call.

How To Use:

  1. To activate this feature, contact Yucca Telecom and ask for Caller ID Line Blocking.

Note: It is not necessary to subscribe to Caller ID to have Per-Line Blocking.

This feature allows the user to dial a code before placing a call to prevent the number from appearing on the Caller ID display of the person being called.

How To Use:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *67 (rotary users dial 1167).
  3. Dial the number you wish to call.
  4. No action is necessary to deactivate this feature.

*Note: The user must dial 67 (rotary users dial 1167) before EACH call. Otherwise, the number will be displayed on the Caller ID unit of the person being called.

This feature routes calls to a number specified by the user.

How To Use:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *72 (rotary users dial 1172).
  3. Listen for a second dial tone.
  4. Dial the number to which you wish to forward your calls. Listen for the confirmation tones followed by the dial tone.
  5. Hang up.

How To Cancel:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *73 (rotary users dial 1173).
  3. Listen for the double tone confirmation.
  4. Hang up.

Note: You will hear short rings on your phone as a call is being forwarded. You will not be able to answer these calls. You will, however, be able to make outgoing calls. If the forwarded number that you wish to use is a long distance number, you will be charged the long distance rate for each call that is forwarded and accepted.

This feature allows the user to immediately forward a call to a specified number if the line is busy.

How To Use:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *90 (rotary users dial 1190).
  3. Listen for a second dial tone.
  4. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
  5. Hang up.

How To Cancel:

  1. Hang up.
  2. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  3. Press *91 (rotary users dial 1191).
  4. Listen for the double tone confirmation.

This feature allows the user to forward calls after a specified number of rings.

How To Use:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *92 (rotary users dial 1192).
  3. Listen for a second dial tone.
  4. Enter the number of rings (from 2 to 9) to be allowed before calls are forwarded, then dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
  5. Hang up.

How To Cancel:

  1. Hang up.
  2. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  3. Press *93 (rotary users dial 1193).
  4. Listen for the double tone confirmation.

This feature allows the user to forward calls from any remote location. To allow remote access, you must have Remote Call Forward, the proper access number, and use of a touch-tone telephone.

How To Use:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Dial your local access number and wait for the second dial tone. (exchange-5000 Ex: 276-5000 or 477-5000)
  3. Enter your ten (10) digit telephone number.
  4. Dial your four (4) digit PIN number followed by the # key and again listen for the confirmation code. (Default PIN is the last 4 digits of phone #.)
  5. Press *72.
  6. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
  7. Hang up.

How To Cancel:

  1. Hang up.
  2. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  3. Dial your local access number and wait for the second dial tone.
  4. Enter your ten (10) digit telephone number.
  5. Dial your four (4) digit PIN number followed by the # key and again listen for the confirmation code. (Default PIN is the last 4 digits of phone #.)
  6. Press *73.
  7. You will hear a double tone confirmation.

Through the use of this feature, you can use your telephone without missing other calls. A special tone alerts you to a waiting call; the person calling you hears normal ringing.

How To Use:

  1. While on a call, a small beep or distinct tone will alert you of another incoming call.
  2. Press the receiver hook or the flash button to answer the second call.
  3. When the second call is answered, the first call is automatically placed on hold.
  4. To return to the original call, press the receiver hook or the flash button.
  5. You may turn off this feature temporarily by pressing *70 before you make a call (rotary users dial 1170). This feature works only on a per-call basis.

Note: This feature is on at all times and is available on all calls whether they are incoming or outgoing. This feature may interfere with modem use, but can be turned off temporarily as detailed above.

This feature allows the user to identify harassing callers via a trace performed by the phone company. If the user deems it necessary to take action against the caller, Yucca Telecom can provide the results of the trace to the appropriate authorities.

How To Use:

  1. During the offensive call, press and quickly release the receiver hook. Listen for the special dial tone. If you have already hung up, lift the handset and listen for the normal dial tone.
  2. Press *57 (rotary users dial 1157).
  3. Listen for an announcement, push 1 to trace call.
  4. Hang up.
  5. The number you traced will be recorded by Yucca Telecom. If you decide to pursue the matter with the local authorities, Yucca Telecom will provide the results of the trace to the appropriate authorities.

Note: Customer Originated Trace must be activated during or immediately after the call you wish to trace. If another call is received before activation or Call Waiting is activated during the harassing call, you will be unable to trace the offending call.

In some areas, after activating the Call Trace feature, a recorded message will state that the call can be traced. Simply follow the voice instructions.

This feature is designed to aid the user in the event of an emergency. When Help-Line is installed, the user can take the phone off the hook and after 30 seconds, it will automatically dial a pre-set number.

How To Use:

To activate this feature, contact Yucca Telecom and ask for Caller Help-Line.

This feature allows you to set up a conversation with other telephones on a single line. This feature is also called Barn Service or Home Intercom.

How To Use:

  1. The call is released when all phones hang up.
  2. Dial your own phone number and listen for a confirmation tone.
  3. After the tone plays, hang up. All phones on the line ring with a distinctive ring.
  4. The first receiver to pick up stops the ring and begins to talk with other phones that pick up.

This feature allows the screening of incoming calls through the creation of a list of up to 10 phone numbers from which the user is willing to accept calls. Incoming calls from numbers not appearing on the personalized list will receive an automated message stating that the user is not currently accepting calls.

How To Use:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *64 (rotary users dial 1164).
  3. Follow the instructions provided by the recorded message that allows you to choose from the following options:
    • Turn on and off by pressing 3.
    • Add an entry to the list by dialing #PhoneNumber#.
    • Remove an entry from the list by dialing PhoneNumber.
    • Hear entries in the list by dialing 1.

Note: This list of phone numbers is separate from that of Selective Call Rejection, Selective Call Forwarding, and other similar services.

This feature allows the user to designate up to 10 VIP numbers for forwarding to another phone. When a call is received from a number appearing on the VIP list, it is automatically forwarded.

How To Use:

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *63 (rotary users dial 1163).
  3. When used for the first time, an announcement prompts you to enter the number that calls will be forwarded to, followed by #.
  4. Follow the instructions provided by the recorded message that allows you to choose from the following options:
    • Press 3 to turn service on or off.
    • Press # to add an entry (01# adds the last call received).
    • Press * to delete an entry.
    • Press 1 to review the list.
    • Press 0 to hear the announcement again.
  5. To determine if the feature is turned on or off, press *63. An announcement message will tell you if the service is turned on or off.

Note: This list of phone numbers is separate from that of Selective Call Rejection, Selective Call Acceptance, and other similar services.

This feature allows the user to reach important numbers by dialing a one or two-digit code. Speed Dial 8 refers to single-digit (2-9) speed dialing which can hold up to 8 numbers, and Speed Dial 30 refers to two-digit (20 to 49) speed dialing that can hold up to 30 numbers.

How To Use:

  1. When finished, simply hang up.
  2. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  3. Press *74 for the one-digit speed calling list (rotary users dial 1174) and *75 for the two-digit calling list (rotary users dial 1175).
  4. Listen for a second dial tone.
  5. Speed Dial 8: Assign a one-digit speed dial code by dialing any number between 2 and 9, then dial the phone number you wish to save. For long distance numbers, include a 1 or 0 and the area code. Speed Dial 30: Assign a two-digit speed dial code by dialing any number between 20 and 49, then dial the phone number you wish to save. For long distance numbers, include a 1 or 0 and the area code.
  6. To make a Speed Dial call: Listen for dial tone. Press the speed dial code and the # (rotary users wait four seconds).
  7. To review a Speed Dial list: Listen for dial tone. Dial *78 or *79. An announcement will play the speed dial list.

This feature allows two (2) telephone numbers to be assigned to a single party line. Each number has a distinctive ring pattern which enables the called party to determine if the call is intended for the teens of the household. This service also works great with fax machines; most fax machines can be programmed to only answer the distinctive ring pattern. You no longer answer the phone only to find it was for the fax.

How To Use:

To activate this feature, contact Yucca Telecom and ask for Teen Line Distinctive Ring.

This feature gives the user the ability to restrict outgoing 0-plus and 1-plus long distance calls.

How To Use:

  1. To activate this feature, contact Yucca Telecom and ask for Toll Restriction.

Note: Toll Restriction allows 1-800 and 1-888 calls to be placed normally.

This feature allows the user to block calls to numbers beginning with 500, 900, and 976.

How To Use:

To activate this feature, contact Yucca Telecom and ask for 500, 900 and 976 Restriction.

This feature allows the user to talk with two people in different places – at the same time. It allows the originating caller to add a third party to the conversation.

How To Use:

  1. Call the first person.
  2. Press the receiver hook.
  3. When a dial tone is heard, dial the number of the second person.
  4. Once connected, press the receiver hook to connect all parties.
